Packaged Refrigeration Units get Global Warming Upgrade!

                                                                                                         August 2010

Always wanting to keep our products up to the demands of our industry we have recently upgraded our entire range of Eight Packaged Refrigeration Units (24kw to 90Kw) with 10 to 15% larger Condenser capacities.

This is in response to two key factors. Many customers want to store product well into the height of summer and generally ambient temperatures seem to be getting warmer. This has caused potential problems with High Pressure tripping of our refrigeration units when unable to cope with extreme warm outside temperatures.

By fitting larger condensers and also incorporating a custom programmed PLC pressure control system with frequency speed inverter control of one fan, our units can now cope with a much wider range of high ambient conditions without the risk of High Pressure cut out.

This problem has long been a weakness of off the shelf Refrigeration Condensing Units which often have inadequate condenser surface area and fanning to cope with high temperature conditions. Even though we have always fitted larger than average condensers to all of our own manufactured Refrigeration units we feel the need to keep ahead of the game to maintain reliable cooling performance throughout the storage season.

“I have been managing director since 1982 and so after another good year in 2007 the company is in a very strong financial position and it seemed opportune to make the management changes now. The people working for Farm Electronics have been responsible for the company's success in the past and I am confident they will continue to be equally successful in the future,” said Mr Leslie.

Tim Dudfield originally from Oxfordshire who moved to Lincolnshire in 1974 when he joined Cornercroft Agriculture, will lead a board of directors who between them have nearly 120 years experience in the industry. After attending Rycotewood College Thame Oxfordshire where he studied Agricultural Engineering he worked for P.A.Turney agricultural engineers at Middleton Stoney Oxfordshire, on a sandwich course.

Paul Jackson joined Farm Electronics in 1972 is currently production director and will carry on with this roll. Charlie Taylor who is currently refrigeration manager becomes technical director.   Charlie joined Farm Electronics in 1991 having previously been service manager for Wathes Refrigeration, and has worked in the refrigeration industry for most of is career,

“With the three of us running Farm Electronics there will be very little change from the customers viewpoint,” said Tim Dudfield.

Farm Electronics design and manufacturer all the principle components in their crop storage systems at the company's factory based at Woodland Drive, Alma Park, Grantham .

The company has won two top industry awards. "The RASE Silver Medal we received is recognition of product quality and is an award for everyone in the company" said Bill Leslie.

The company's personnel include specialists in electronics, electrical engineering, agronomy, air movement and refrigeration.
