In short

We supply two kinds of store controller. Cropscan touchscreen controllers scan crop temperature continuously, choose refrigeration or ambient ventilation automatically and can be run from a phone app. The Vision Control climate computer controls temperature, humidity and CO₂ across fans, hatches, heaters and refrigeration.

Vision Control

The Vision Control is an intelligent storage computer that controls temperature and relative humidity as well as CO2 level by regulating fans, hatches, heaters and refrigeration devices. This results in minimal storage losses as well as optimal energy saving

Clear and informative

The screen of the Vision Control shows a diagrammatic view of the storage and of the refrigeration. The status of the product and the installation are clearly shown. Furthermore, the Vision Control gives the user automated tips for the optimal settings of the climate computer.

Energy management

The Vision Control energy management module (15 inch model) is an energy efficient module. By setting the maximum allowed energy consumption and setting the system priorities, the storage and other energy consuming facilities are automatically switched on or off. This results in the least storage losses and highest energy savings.

Weather in Control

Weather in Control is an optimisation module which, based on a 10-day weather forecast, takes intelligent decisions regarding the ventilation and refrigeration strategy. The module’s advantage is maintaining a more precise desired storage temperature of the product with lower weight loss and reduced energy costs. The profit of the system is being made by making efficient use of the available moments when cold outside air is available. Weather in Control will adjust the climate computer’s settings so that, depending on the situation (periods with either predicted lower or higher temperatures), start sooner or later with external ventilation or mechanical refrigeration. The decisions are made based on:

expected outside temperatures
the set target temperature
energy rate structure
possible present mechanical refrigeration

Online control

The climate computer can be controlled via internet connection (PC, tablet, smartphone). This gives the user continuous insight in the storage facility and the possibility to adjust the settings.

Alerts

The Vision Control climate computer is developed to keep a close grip over the products that are being controlled by the system. If desired, our storage specialists can support the Vision Control to further increase the storage efficiency. For this purpose, the Tolsma-Alert service package was developed. Ask one of our storage specialists about the possibilities.

Cropscan

TOUCHSCREEN ELECTRONIC CROP TEMPERATURE CONTROL

Continuous scanning of crop temperature with automatic selection of refrigeration or ambient ventilation depending on temperature differential.

Airmix control on duct temperature allowing use of ambient air cooler than the crop temperature.

Control on highest or average temperature.

Drying control which ensures the air temperature in the duct does not fall more than +20°C below the average crop temperature to prevent dew point.

Max-Min limits which the operator can set to prevent over or under cooling.

Timed recirculation interval and period, operator settable to ensure air movement within the store between cooling periods.

Timed CO2 Purge to eliminate carbon dioxide build up.

If the controller is connected to the internet there is an app available to allow the operator to view the Cropscan screen and make adjustments via a tablet or smart phone. The controller can also send a number of fault emails to the operator. Internet connection not included.

Questions about store controllers

Can I control my store from my phone?

Yes. A Cropscan connected to the internet works with an app that shows its screen and lets you make adjustments from a tablet or smartphone, and it can email you about faults. The internet connection is not included. The Vision Control can also be run from a PC, tablet or smartphone.

What is the difference between Cropscan and Vision Control?

Cropscan controls crop temperature, choosing refrigeration or ambient air and purging CO₂ on a timer. Vision Control is a full climate computer for temperature, humidity and CO₂, with options such as energy management and Weather in Control, which plans ventilation from a 10-day forecast.

How is CO₂ kept down in store?

Cropscan has a timed CO₂ purge, and Vision Control regulates the CO₂ level. The Fresh Box refreshes store air with minimal energy and can connect to Vision Control.

Which sensors work with the controllers?

Wire, cable and product temperature sensors, a product humidity sensor and the TMU measuring unit. See control panels and sensors.
