The Cropscan Touchscreen 7″ is the sixth generation of the well-trusted potato store controller. Following in the footsteps of more than 1,600 earlier units, it carries forward our core principles of ease of use and is still compatible with the temperature sensors and junction boxes of the very first Cropscan.
The big leap forward with this model is the ability to connect to the internet and view or set the unit from a smartphone, your office PC or any internet-capable device. The app to do this is free.
The heart of the unit is the 7″ colour touchscreen, which gives a clear, fully graphical display. All the features of previous Cropscans are included, plus some new ones. For instance, a bar graph shows how far the louvres are open during air mixing, and the popular “Ramp Down” feature for the initial pull-down of crop temperatures is now much easier to use.
Long-term datalogging is standard. Temperatures are logged every hour, and a season-long graph can be produced by downloading the stored data to our Graphing Season File software, which shows every recorded temperature for the whole season as a graph and as figures.
Because the Cropscan Touchscreen 7″ is packaged in a similar-sized enclosure with standardised sensor sockets, earlier Cropscan models can be upgraded to it with minimal disruption, usually in a couple of hours.
The internet connection can be hard-wired to an existing router if practical. Alternatively, we can supply a 4G modem with a monthly SIM contract. A satellite connection is also suitable.
